— Head of Division S, Soviet counterintelligence.
— Spent his early years undercover as a reporter for the Daily Mail in Liberia, Rwanda, Ecuador, and Venezuela at his handlers' behest. Reported with a much more centrist and neutral viewpoint than how he really felt about the ongoing instability and political conflicts in these locations.
— During the events of Skyfall Kim had a very vested interest in getting a hold of that list of operatives, and suspicions were naturally raised as to whether the thief was Soviet—something his friends in Moscow weren't happy about.
— Not fond of M, but remains cordial out of professionalism. Her personality reminds him of his handler, whom he also dislikes.

PERMISSIONS

PHYSICAL VIOLENCE ∎ Yes, with ooc discussion.
ROMANCE/FLIRTING ∎ Yes! Kim's a flirt and pretty promiscuous, and also I love to write ship stuff. Polyamory is a no for him.
SEXUAL CONTENT ∎ Yes. See kinklist.
PSYCHIC ABILITIES ∎ ooc discussion first.
MAGIC/POWERS ∎ ooc discussion first.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS OR TRIGGERS ∎ Kim doesn't savor talking about his time in Vienna or Spain, both because of how difficult it was to pretend to side with fascists and because of the atrocities he witnessed. Guernica in particular touches a nerve.
FOURTH WALLING ∎ Yes, but discuss first.
THREADHOPPING ∎ No.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS OR TRIGGERS ∎ I'm super squicked out by eye trauma and nail injuries, and I prefer not to play out stuff involving tornadoes, but other severe weather events are fine.
Kim's canonically a cheater, and threads with him have the distant possibility of flashbacks to him seeing people shot in the middle of the street in fascist-dominated Vienna. There is also a scene in canon in which a woman has sex with him while his stare and utter despondence make it clear that he isn't enjoying it and his consent is highly questionable.
Kim's based loosely off of a historical figure of the same name, though his personality and appearance (as well as some of his closest relationships) have been heavily fictionalized. I default to show canon for everything except for the childhood/family background it alludes to but doesn't explicitly address, for which I use the historical details that are nodded to. Because Cambridge Spies regrettably whitewashes and anglicizes James Jesús Angleton, I choose to reference him as he historically identified (brown and latino) whilst maintaining the fictionalization's personality, relationships, etc.
